Crossroads Church began in 1980 under the leadership of three young men who originally travelled Europe as part of a basketball team. They met for Bible study and prayer in assorted homes, halls and churches until they eventually bought and settled into an old furniture warehouse in Ferney-Voltaire.

During the warehouse days, one of the members was working outside the building when a man approached him.  He said, "I will build you a church building in exchange for this property." The deal was struck, and soon the church moved into their new and current home.  One of the great moments in Crossroads' history was the historic march from the old warehouse across to the new building God had provided.

Since 1997, the building has been home to one of the most diverse congregations in the world and has been filled weekly with people from around the world who come into contact with the grace of God because of the vision and faith of those who have gone before.

Each of the original three pastors, Linus Morris, Gary Edmonds and Chris Hall have continued on in various Christian leadership roles around the world.

Many gifted leaders have followed in the footsteps of the original church planting team:

Jim Longhurst served as pastor with his wife Jean from 1994 to 2004.  Jim is currently a pastor in the United States and a welcome visitor to the Geneva area and Crossroads Church.

Ian Coffey served as pastor with his wife Ruth who worked as pastoral co-ordinator from 2004 to 2007. Ian currently continues to play a vital leadership role in the UK through a vibrant preaching, teaching and training ministry, serving as a teacher at Moorlands Bible College in the South of England.

Larry and Lisa Lloyd and their four boys came from the Chicago area in 2002. Larry served as youth and worship pastor from 2002 to 2008 until his appointment in June 2008 as senior pastor.
